Firefighters perform backfire to prevent the wildfire from reaching nearby homes. The Canyon Fire started around 1:30pm on August 7, 2025 and rapidly spread to 600 acres in less than two hours. Aided by the heatwave in Southern California that reached 100 degrees Ferehnehit, dry vegetation, and steep topology; the fire is 0% contained and 4,800 acres as of Thursday night.
